The Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a new boat and RV storage at the corner of State Road 47 and County Road 138.
The facility, Santa Fe Local Supply and Storage, will include a 1,800 square-foot retail building, a 1,350 square-foot maintenance building and four unenclosed canopies that will have 102 storage stalls for boats and RVs.
The only entrance to the facility will be from SR 47.
There is nowhere for an entrance off of CR 138 that would not be too close to the intersection of SR 47 and CR 138.
The vote was unanimous to approve the special use permit.
The BOCC also approved speed limit changes to NW 100th St., NW 101st St., NW 102nd Place, NW 103rd Place, NE 48th Ct., SE 77th Lane, SE 78th Place, SE 78th St. and SE 79th Ct..
All of these roads will now have 25-mph speed limits.
As unmarked rural roads, they all had speed limits of 55 mph.
The vote was 5-0 to approve the changes.
