The Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners set its tentative tax rates at Thursday’s meeting.
Commissioners set the tentative ad valorem millage rate at 8.5 mills, a decrease from last year’s millage rate and the one on the TRIM notice, which was 8.7.
The EMS municipal services taxing unit was set at the rolled back rate of 0.9026 mills.
The county approved a budget of just over $63.5 million and an EMS MSTU budget of just over $3.26 million.
No changes were made to the fire special assessment nor the solid waste budget.
All the votes were 5-0.
The final budget hearing will be held Sept. 15 at 5:15 p.m..
