By Larkyn Benson
On Friday October 27th,2023 the Trenton Varsity Tiger Football team traveled to Hamilton County to take on the Trojans for one of the Tigers last games of the season. This game was a sloppy one for the Tigers. At the start of the game the Tigers could never get anything going. In the first quarter every time the Tigers got the ball they either turned it over on downs or there was an interception. The Trojans though were able to find good things. The Trojans scored twice in the 1st quarter which brought the score to 14-0. In the second quarter the Tigers finally got something going with Jon Furst scoring the first touchdown of the game for the Tigers. This brought the score to 14-6. The Tigers kicked an extra point to cut the Trojans lead in half. The score was 14-7. The Tigers tried keeping the Trojans off the board but the Trojans didn’t let that happen. The Trojans scored again in the second quarter. The score was then 20-7. The Tigers tried scoring again before halftime but they weren’t successful. The start of the third quarter was off to another shaky start for the Tigers. The Tigers could never seem to get what they needed in order to get down in the end zone. The Tigers never stopped though. Even after the Trojans stopped them several times the Tigers fought til the very end. At the end of the third quarter the Tigers were able to find the end zone and score again. Sean Bollwage caught the ball in the back of the end zone for the score. This brought the score to 20-13. The Tigers tried kicking the extra point but they missed it. This was the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter the Tigers started off with a strong defense. It slowly weakened as the quarter progressed though. The Trojans pushed the Tigers defensive line all the way to the end of the game. The Trojans scored again and that brought the score to the final of 27-13. The Tigers will travel to Tenoroc which is in Lakeland for their final game of the 2023 football season.
