A circuit court judge in Leon County ruled the wording in Amendment 3 is misleading and must be rewritten Tuesday morning.
Amendment 3 is the property tax amendment that raises the non-school homestead exemption.
The judge ruled that the wording is full of political taglines that work toward making the amendment sound better to voters rather than actually telling them what the amendment will do.
The judge ordered Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier to rewrite the language in the amendment and resubmit to the Florida Department of State within 10 days of the ruling.
Any challenges to the new language would have to be submitted within 10 days of the new language being submitted.
