Palms Medical Group is proud to announce its recognition as the 2026 Business of the Year by the Gilchrist County Chamber of Commerce, which was presented during the Chamber’s 2026 Annual Banquet on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
This honor reflects more than business achievement, it underscores decades of trust, loyalty, and partnership between Palms Medical Group and the community that first made its work possible. Founded in 1971 by the Gilchrist County Medical Board and the Trenton Rotary Club as Trenton Medical Center, the organization emerged to meet a critical need: providing Gilchrist County with its first medical provider. Since that time, the organization has grown significantly, serving more than 70,000 patients in 2025 alone across 13 locations in seven North Central Florida counties. This expansion ultimately led to the organization’s unified identity as Palms Medical Group.
“Gilchrist County is where Palms began, and this award is a meaningful reminder of the trust this community has placed in us for more than five decades,” said Anita Rembert, Chief Executive Officer of Palms Medical Group. “Our growth and success are rooted in the people who supported us from the start, and we’re honored to continue serving them.”
The award serves as both a celebration of Palms Medical Group’s 55-year legacy and a reaffirmation of its mission: enhancing the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
“No matter how much we expand, Trenton will always be home for Palms,” Rembert added. “The foundation built here shaped who we are today, and it continues to guide our mission for the future. We’re proud of our history in Gilchrist County and committed to carrying that legacy forward.”
The recognition also honors the dedication of the many employees who have contributed to Palms Medical Group’s success over the years. Gilchrist County remains a vital part of the organization’s identity as the place where its roots were planted and where its story began. Under
the leadership of the Board of Directors and CEO, Anita Rembert, Palms continues to build this momentum, ensuring it is prepared for the next era of care.
