Trenton’s boys basketball team defeated Hamilton County Saturday night to advance to the Elite Eight.
After ending the first period, 17-16, the Tigers outscored the Trojans, 18-5, in the second to hold a 35-21 lead at the half. Trenton would pull away in the second half to win it, 78-40.
Mason VunCannon led the Tigers in scoring with 19 points, followed by Tyler Bullis with 16 and Marc Micale with 13. Noah Owens contributed 10 rebounds.
The Tigers will now host Hilliard in the regional final with a trip to state on the line.
The game is Saturday at 7 p.m..
