Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Corbet James O’Connors and seized drugs and paraphernalia last Tuesday.
According to a GCSO Facebook post, deputies were conducting increased patrols at the Wannee boat ramp on Jan. 27.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., deputies observed a suspicious black Chevy Trailblazer.
Deputies noticed the tag on the vehicle did not match the vehicle, and O’Connors could not provide identifying information that could be immediately verified.
Deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the car. K9 Zano conducted an open-air sniff and was alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Deputies seized 41.1 grams of fentanyl and multiple items of drug paraphernalia, such as syringes, scales, pipes and foil.
O’Connors was arrested and charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as an outstanding warrant from Sarasota County.
