Hundred-year feast to be held Sept. 20 at rodeo arena

Come One, Come All to the Gilchrist County 100 Year Feast
Plans are underway for a great celebration at the 100 Year Feast to be held on Saturday, September 20th, at the Gilchrist County Ag Complex (Rodeo Arena) at the curve between Trenton and Bell.
The 100 Year Feast will be a great way for county residents and former county residents to celebrate Gilchrist County’s 100th Anniversary. Remember the Education Foundation’s Beast Feast? Well this celebration will be much like that event of days gone by. Great home cooked food, 100 year anniversary merchandise, and a whole lot of fellowship with longtime friends and neighbors.
Tickets are $25 and can be picked up from Dale Bryant Anderson at the Property Appraiser’s Office in the Gilchrist County Courthouse or purchased online at Gilchrist countycentennial.com, or by contacting Julie at 352-494-8070 or emailing Thomassix@aol.com.
The Centennial Committee is planning for the menu to include such items as smoked sausage, mullet, boiled peanuts, potato salad, deviled eggs, homemade desserts and much more. Think old fashioned dinner on the grounds menu.
All funds raised after expenses will go toward a Centennial monument at the Memorial Park next to the Gilchrist County Courthouse.
