Head Coach: Drue Barry
Last Year’s Record: 15-11
Seniors: 5
Returning Starters: 4
You had a 15-11 record last year, what do you think is the next step in the progression of the program?
Like any other year, it’s a district championship and make the playoffs.
What class do you expect the most out of?
Both my juniors and seniors. We’ve got some strong leaders on both those classifications and a strong sophomore class.
Who so far between the offseason and preseason has stuck out?
My setter, Rylee Johnson, she’s doing a fantastic job. She’s got wonderful hands. Our offense is going to run around her. Our two big hitters: Gracelynd Joiner-Solis, she’s actually a sophomore this year. She started for me as an outside as a freshman last year. Big, strong kid. And a right side, Dacy Graham, probably one of the most athletic kids I’ve ever had in years.
What are some matches you’re looking forward to?
All of them. We always start off the year with Newberry. That’s always a fun match. Branford is always competitive. And, of course, we always like playing Trenton.
Is there anything we haven’t talked about so far that you feel like everyone needs to know about your team?
No. They’re just a very super-close group. They get along well. Really looking forward to this year. There’s no bickering between the girls, and they’re playing for each other this year, so it’s going to be a super fun year. Super athletic, so it’ll be fun.
