The Florida FFA Association has announced the 119 candidates to receive the coveted American FFA Degree for 2024. The list includes 7 members from Gilchrist County.
The American FFA Degree is the highest degree that can be obtained in the National FFA Organization. To earn the American FFA Degree, the member must hold a State FFA Degree, complete secondary instruction in an agricultural education program and operate an outstanding supervised agricultural experience program. The member must also demonstrate community service, leadership abilities, and outstanding scholastic achievement. The member applies within a year after graduating from high school.
The state of Florida applicants are forwarded to the National FFA Organization for consideration. The applicant will have the opportunity to be recognized on stage at the 96th Florida State FFA Convention in June. Once approved by the national organization, the member will receive the American FFA Degree at the 97th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana in October.
The applicants from Gilchrist County are: Alaina Blair, Adli Elliott, Jaidon Lovett, Justin Nash, Alex Powell Jr, Ashlee Thomas, and Kinleigh Cooper, each from the Bell FFA Chapter. Congratulations to the applicants on their achievement!
