Dr. Jim Surrency, Superintendent of Schools said that all four public schools in Gilchrist County will have digital signs at last Tuesday’s meeting.
All of the signs will be similar to the one that is up and operational at Trenton Middle-High School.
The one at Bell Elementary School is already up but is awaiting a meter and electrical hookup.
The signs for the County Office and Bell High School have been shipped and should be installed soon, Surrency said.
Bell’s marquee-style sign has been damaged for some time, and only one side has been used.
Surrency said the new digital signs make it easier for the schools to communicate than the old signs, which had to be changed manually letter-by-letter.
Surrency also said that the Florida High School Athletic Association was investigating the events during Trenton’s homecoming game versus Bronson.
The game was called at halftime after a Bronson player dove into a Trenton player’s knee as the Tigers kneeled to end the first half.
The FHSAA confirmed correspondence had been sent to both schools, but declined to provide any details.
