This week the Tigers lost 3 straight games.
On Monday September 25th, 2023 the Trenton Lady Tigers took on the Branford Buccaneers. The Tigers had a slow start to the game. The Tigers sloppy blocking and bad communication hurt them in the first set of the game. The Tigers could never stack on enough good serves to keep the Buccaneers off balance and so the Bucs came away with the first win of the night by winning the first set 16-25. The second set of the night was even worse for the Tigers. The Tigers stated off good but could not hold onto it and the Buccaneers were able to pull through and keep the Tigers from getting back into the set by winning the second set 12-25. The third set of the night got better for the Tigers. Though they didn’t win the set they were able to make some good serves and hits. The Buccaneers won the third set of the night and took the win. On Tuesday September 26th, 2023 the Trenton Tiger Volleyball team took on the Newberry Panthers. The first set of the night was a little shaky for the Tigers. The Panthers came to play. The Tigers on the other hand didn’t have what they needed to play on Tuesday. The Tigers didn’t play to the best of their ability against the Panthers. The Panthers took the first set of the match with a score of 16-25. The second set of the match was the same as the first one for the Tigers. The Tigers made the same mistakes and it ended up being the difference in the game. With the mistakes and the bad communication that the Tigers had the Panthers were able to win the second set of the game 16-25. The third set of the night was a decent one. Though the Tigers lost the third set it was still a good one for both teams. The Tigers lost the third set by 10 points but it was still a good one. The Panthers took the third set 15-25 and won the match. On Thursday September 28th, 2023 the Lady Tigers took on the Dixie County Bears for Senior Night. After the senior night festivities the match finally started. The Tigers started the game out strong. The first set was a solid one for the Tigers. The Tigers had solid playing skills and excellent communication. Even the though the Tigers started strong the Bears were able to go one step above the Tigers and the Bears won the first set 25-22. The second set of the night was not the best one for the Tigers after starting strong in the first set the Tigers slowly started losing momentum going forward. The Tigers started to play with less confidence. With the way that the Tigers played the second set the Bears were able to capitalize and win the second set of the night 25-18. The third set of the night turned worse for the Tigers. Nothing was going their way and everything seemed to get away from them. The Bears knew what to do and were able to get ahead of the Tigers and came away with their third win of the night by beating the Tigers in the third set 25-17.
This week the Tigers will travel to cross City and take on the Bears on Monday October 2nd, 2023 at 6:30. On Tuesday October 3rd, 2023 the Tigers will travel to Gainesville to take on the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves at 6:30. On Thursday October 5th, 2023 the Tigers will host the Williston Red Devils for their last home game of the season at 6:30.
