Last year’s record:
5-19 overall, 1-5 in district, lost to Newberry in district semifinal
Returning starters: 4
Seniors: 4
What are your expectations for the season?
My expectations are that all of them pull together, and they play as a team. Last year, one of the things we struggled with was pushing all the way to the end, so, this year, I’d like to see them fight all the way to the end of every single match.
What class are you expecting the most out of?
I would say since I only have four seniors, I expect the most out of my junior class. That’s my biggest class right now.
Who is somebody who has jumped out to you during the summer and beginning of practice?
I have Brianna Karanja. She was brand new to volleyball last year, and she has grown leaps and bounds from last season to this season. We’ve got Koi Perry as an outside. She has really grown throughout the summer and is really fine-tuning her skills. We’ve got Jami Lozada. She’s really been growing all summer. She’s been one of our primary players all summer. And we’ve got a really young setter this year, so seeing what our setter will do. She’s Hailee Sumlin. We’ll see what she will do because she’s a middle schooler on a varsity team.
